Fire Engulfs Popular Fitness Centre In Abuja With Dozens Of People In Session




A popular fitness center, Eco Fitness Hub, located in Gwarinpa, Abuja, was engulfed by fire on Wednesday morning.


The fire broke out around 10 am while approximately 50 people were inside, many of them engaged in fitness activities.


Witnesses reported that the fire began in the lounge area and quickly spread throughout the building. “There were about 50 people inside when it started, but everyone managed to escape,” a gym member said.


Firefighters arrived at the scene about 30 minutes later but struggled to control the blaze due to its intensity.


Despite the efforts of two fire service trucks, large sections of Eco Fitness Hub were left in ruins.


As of the time of this report, the cause of the fire remains unknown.


Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, although significant portions of the gym have been extensively damaged.
